My health journey so far

Hi I'm I'm Becci, I've decided to make my first blog post about my health journey so far, focusing on the diagnosis facts.

This is a long story short so I will go into more detail in my future posts, this is just a bit of information about some of the chronic illnesses I manage on a daily basis.

It can be so hard to try and sum up your health, especially when you have multiple long-term health conditions, to complicate it further all of them are unpredictable and mainly invisible to others.

If at any point you have any questions please leave me a comment and I'll get back to ASAP.

I manage; Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Hypermobility Syndrome, Chronic Pain, Gastritis, Oesophagus Reflux, Diaphragmatic Hernia, Acute Meniscal Tear Lateral Cartilage in both knees, Osteoarthritis NOS of hip, TMJ Disorder, Bursitis, Chronic Migraines, IBS, Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction. I was in full time employment until 1/10/2019.

My story started in Junior school about 10 years old but was told by GP's it was growing pains.

2011: After my joints swelled so badly(unable to hold a toothbrush/do up buttons) I was told I have Polyarthritis even though x-rays were normal. Costochondritis & Reflux Oesophagitis.

2012: Diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis made with blood tests FINALLY

2013: Jaw pain started, frequently dislocating getting stuck & difficulty eating certain foods.

6 months of stomach pains lead to Iron Deficiency Anaemia where I needed iron tablets & transfusion after passing blood from my stomach lining, found with an Abnormal Gastroscopy 2014 the cause was my meds.

2014: Oesophagitis, anxiety & depression.

2015: Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJ) diagnosis

2016: Fibromyalgia, Hypermobility Syndrome, Achilles Tendinitis, Chronic Pain, Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMD) Diagnosis.

Hip Arthrogram carried out, unsuccessful as the surgeon couldn't get into the joint.

Physio & hydrotherapy referral.

2017: Aspiration of jaw joint.

Endoscopy & Sigmoidoscopy.

IBS diagnosis.

Steroid injection trochanteric bursa(hip), then later another Hip Arthrogram

(Successful) showing degenerative wear.

2018: Osteoarthritis NOS of Hip.

Chronic Migraines diagnosed.

Steroid injection & hip manipulation under sedation; referred to Orthopaedic Hips Team for physio.

2019: MRI found Acute Meniscal Tear in Lateral Cartilage both knees, referred to Hydro.

Endoscopy showing Diaphragmatic Hernia

My untold health story

I’ve never told anyone this whole story before because I consider my diagnosis story to be when I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia as that has and remains to be the thing that debilitates me the most.
